Patel will be addressing rallies at all the seats where the by-polls are being held in the coming week.
By-elections for nine assembly seats and one parliamentary seats in Gujarat will be conducted on September 13 along with 24 other assembly and two parliamentary seats across the country. The assembly seats where the by-polls will be held include Anand, Limkheda (Dahod), Deesa (Banaskantha), Matar (Kheda), Maninagar (Ahmedabad), Talaja (Bhavnagar), Tankara (Rajkot), Khambhalia (Jamnagar) and Mangrol (Junagadh). While by-election for Vadodara parliamentary seat will also be held on the same day. Modi had vacated Vadodara seat and chose Varanasi after the Lok Sabha elections in May this year.

Commencing her week-long campaign from Khambhaliya assembly seat in Jamnagar, Patel said addressing a rally, “I would appeal you to gift victory in 10 seats (9 assembly 1 Loks Sabha) when Prime Minister (Modi) visits Gujarat on his birthday (September 17). It is your responsibility to gift him the victory.”
She informed the people that Modi would be coming to Gujarat on September 17 along with visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Taking a dig at the Congress Patel said that for over 40 years since the foundations of Gujarat, Congress governments continued to be negligent to the needs and development of the people of Gujarat. Stating example of female literacy rate she said in Gujarat it was 58 per cent till 2001. But under the leadership of Modi the government worked relentlessly to ensure the spread of education, because of which, today every girl of Gujarat goes to school.
She told the people that Gujarat was committed to the legacy of Modi and his model of development. The chief minister further announced modern facility in Dwarka district and a 150-bed hospital that would become operational in beginning of 2015.
