“Hyderabad has the power to attract people from different corners of the world. It will go ahead further if encouraged,” he said, after laying the foundation stone for the Institute of Company Secretaries of India's (ICSI) centre for excellence.
The centre of excellence is intended to generate, spread and impart specialised knowledge and training in key domains pertaining to corporate laws, governance, management, business sustainability, corporate social responsibility, capital and financial markets, fiscal and economic laws, control systems and allied subjects through research and publications.
On the economic front in the country, Naidu said the first quarter of the current financial year (April-June 2014) clocked 5.70 per cent growth in gross domestic product (GDP), the highest in two-and-a-half years.
