Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President G Parameshwara today asked Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to include in the state Budget for 2013-14 steps to fulfill the promises made in the party's election manifesto.

In a letter, copy of which was released to media here, Parameshwara also asked Siddaramaiah to direct his cabinet colleagues to give priority to implementation of the promises made in the manifesto. Parameshwara said the defeated candidates in 102 constituencies should be taken into confidence while implementing the poll promises.

It is also necessary to study why the party did not win these seats, he added.

In the May 5 Karnataka assembly elections, the Congress swept back to power with 122 seats in the 224-member House. He also stated that suitable steps should be taken to gain people's confidence before the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
