Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today once again stressed on equitable development through inclusive growth and asked the District collectors in the State to ensure that no one was excluded from the development process. While stating that last year's drought impacted the State's economy, but she was confident that this will be reversed soon.
In her opening remarks at the Collectors' conference in Chennai today, the Chief Minister, said last year's “severe” drought in the state impacted the growth particularly in the agriculture and allied activities sector.
“We need to focus on making all efforts to revive economic growth and put it back on a high growth trajectory," she said.

The Chief Minister, while expressing her confidence that things will be reversed soon, stressed on the State Government sustained and focussed efforts which is being undertake across all sectors which will help the state to achieve the growth target in 2013-2014.
She said that the state is committed for an inclusive growth model covering all sections of society including the "most vulnerable and marginalised" ones such as Adi Dravidars, Tribals, BCs and MBCs, among others.
The Chief Minister told the Collectors that they had a special responsibility to expand the reach of the government schemes and programmes.
The growth model that the State Government has adopted is to achieve equitable development through inclusive growth and emphasis is on the word “inclusive”, she said.
