After expelled AAP MLA Vinod Kumar Binny, another Independent legislator Rambir Shokeen announced that he will withdraw support to Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi as it has "failed" to fulfil promises made during polls.

Mundka constituency MLA Shokeen will be meeting Lt Governor Nejeeb Jung today apprising him of his decision to withdraw support to the government and will hold a press conference later during the day.

He said that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made several promises on power and water problems in Delhi, but even after several days in office he failed to address the issue.

"We had given support to the AAP based on the issue of removing unnecessary restrictions on villages, extension of 'Lal dora' boundaries and also on the water issue, but they have failed on these fronts.

"Last when, I, Binny and JD(U) MLA Shoaib Iqbal met Kejriwal on February 4, he assured us of starting work on these issues within a week but nothing has been done so far. I had also called up Kejriwal ji but he didn't respond or call me back. So I have decided to withdraw my support," Shokeen said.

Iqbal, however, today said that he will continue extending his support to the AAP government.

"Trouble is mounting for the Dehi government and they have to resolve them so that public and political parties do not face re-election. I will support him on the Jan Lokpal Bill. But from the statement that has come from Arvind Kejriwal, it seems that he is not willing to run the government," he said.

Laxminagar constituency MLA Binny, less than a week ago, withdrew support to the AAP government.
