Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa would visit Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his office at New Delhi on June 3, 3014.
"The Chief Minsiter will be calling on the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in his office in South block," said an announcement from the State government.
During the visit, she will present a memorandum to Modi, which said to have include some crucial issues relating to Tamil Nadu which have been pending with the Government of India.
"It will also highlight some issues which require the urgent attention of the Government of India to safeguard the legitimate interests of the State and to propel the State on a faster growth path," it said.
While both the leaders had been sharing good relation between for several years, during the recent Lok Sabha elections, both the parties contested separately. While the BJP led NDA has received majority seats, round 282 seats, across the country, Jayalalaithaa led AIADMK has won 37 out of 39 seats in Tamil Nadu.
Jayalalithaa did not attend the swearing-in-ceremony of Modi, recently, as the BJP has invited Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa for the ceremony, which she, along with other Tamil politicians objected. Rumours are that the NDA would look at AIADMK's support in Rajya Sabha, where they have a limited number of members in the Rajya Sabha.
