Chief Minister Nitish Kumar joined the revelry hosted by JD(U) state President Bashistha Narayan Singh at a prominent club here.
The ruling party got a shot in its arm with a prominent RJD leader Anil Kumar joining JD(U) and being part of the treat.

The CM hugged Anil Kumar to congratulate him for joining the party.
Anil Kumar had served as MLA, twice from Congress and as many times on RJD ticket from Bhore in Gopalganj district and was RJD Rajya Sabha member from 1998 to 2004.
Ministers, JD(U) MPs, MLAs and other senior party leaders and workers participated in the feast.
The mood was no less festive at the residence of RJD President Lalu Prasad.
Out of jail in the fodder scam case, Prasad along with his former Chief Minister wife Rabri Devi welcomed people at the Makar Sankranti "bhoj" at 10 Circular road.
Prasad later told reporters that 'grahan' (eclipse) has ended over him with the start of the new year and begun on his adversaries in BJP and JD(U).
He said he would launch training programmes for workers in every Assembly constituency from February to prepare them for the Parliamentary elections.
Some middle level state Congress leaders were sighted at Lalu Prasad's feast.
Congress also organised Dahi Churra party at its state headquarters.
