Jharkhand, J&K to have 5-phase polls from Nov 25

The Election Commission on Saturday announced dates for Assembly polls in Jammu & Kashmir and Jharkhand. Voting in these states will take place in five phases - on November 25, December 2, 9, 14 and 20. Unlike other states, the J&K Assembly has a six-year term. Three Assembly seats of Delhi - Mehrauli, Tughlakabad and Krishna Nagar - will also go for by-polls on November 25. These seats were left vacant when the Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs Parvesh Verma, Ramesh Bidhuri and Harsh Vardhan were elected to the Lok Sabha in May. Counting of votes for all phases of Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand polls and Delhi by-polls will be done on December 23.
