Those who thought it was an oath-taking ceremony meant only for Delhi chief minister-designate Arvind Kejriwal and his six cabinet ministers, they were proved wrong. After Delhi's Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung left the scene, the new chief minister administered another oath to around 40,000 people gathered to witness the event at the Ram Lila ground.

Kejriwal asked the crowd not to give or take bribe. He said soon the government would launch a helpline to deal with bribery cases. "If someone ask for a bribe, give it to him," said Kejriwal, and after a pause, added, "So that we catch them red-handed. I will get your work done."

"Let's all swear not to give bribe ever," Kejriwal said during his 19-minute speech.

The party chief said that it is often observed that people face difficulty while applying for necessary documents like ration card.

"Within 2 days we will announce a helping number. Just give a call on that number if you find such a case and we will catch hold of them", said Kejriwal.

After this, he asked the people to say after him: "Mai kasam khata hu na kabhi rishwat lunga, na kabhi dunga (I pledge neither would I take bribe nor give it)". The crowd took the pledge, just as Kejriwal and his army did a few minutes back.
