Biju Radhakrishnan, the prime accused in the “solar scam” case, has leveled shocking allegations against Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Wednesday.

Deposing before a judicial panel, Radhakrishnan alleged that he had paid Chandy a bribe of Rs 5.5 cr out of which Rs 5.1 crore was collected personally by the chief minister. The rest was paid to the CM's personal staff. Radhakrishnan also told the Justice G Sivarajan Commission investigating the scam that Chandy had promised him 70 acres of land in a government owned industrial estate in return for 40 per cent of all profits.

Radhakrishnan has also alleged that Chandy and other Congress leaders took sexual favors from Sarita S Nair, the other accused in the case. Radhakrishnan named ministers like Shibu Baby John, A P Anilkumar, MLA Hibi Eden, Aryadan Shaukkath and Anil Kumar’s personal assistant Nazarullah as those similarly involved with Nair. Radhakrishnan went on to claim that he was willing to submit video evidence before the court.

Radhakrishnan also told the panel that he had shown the videos of the other 5 people involved to the chief minister but had not shown the sixth video as that involved the chief minister himself. He also claimed that Nair herself had recorded these videos.

In response to the allegations, Nair told the The Indian Express: “I have seen Chandy as a fatherly figure. It is heinous to raise such an allegation. I will take legal action against Biju. I will appear before the commission on December 7 and reveal all financial dealings in the solar issue. I have not seen Shoukkath, but know Shibu Baby John as a minister.”
