Lokjanshakti Party (LJP) President Ramvilas Paswan today supported Congress in banning opinion and exit polls which it said generally goes wrong.

"LJP will soon write a letter to Election Commission to put a stop on opinion and exit polls," Paswan told reporters.

The LJP chief said such guessing on elections results generally goes wrong which puts a question mark on credibility of media organisations too.

Asked about the tie-up with Congress in the 2014 Parliamentary elections, Paswan said his party would contest the polls with ally RJD.

"About Congress I have already said that the ball is in the court of that party," he told mediapersons after a meeting of all the LJP cells here.

Paswan had recently met Congress President Sonia Gandhi and rooted for an alliance between Congress, LJP and RJD. However, a section of the Congress prefers to go with JD(U) of Nitish Kumar after it parted ways with BJP.

Paswan said a big rally was scheduled to be held at Gandhi maidan on November 28 on the occasion of foundation day of LJP, but keeping in mind the serial blasts during BJP rally the party has shifted the venue to S K Memorial hall.

The rally at Gandhi maidan would now be organised on February 23 next year, he added.
