Deshmukh told reporters here that the request for amendment will be made at the meeting of food ministers from all over the country in Delhi on Friday.
The Minister said earlier, beneficiaries got 35 kg on one ration card before the implementation of the Act.

Under the new law, currently, each member of the family gets 5 kg of food grains, supposing, there are three persons in a family, they will get 15 kg, whereas earlier they got 35 kg, he said.
If the demand is accepted, 22,000 metric tonne food grains will be require every month to meet the need, while the state government gets 3.74 lakh metric tonnes as of now, Deshmukh added.
