Pashimbanga Sarkari Karmachari Federation, an umbrella organisation of Trinamool Congress-sponsored unions of government employees, will hold its maiden state convention here on February 22 in the presence of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Announcing this here, the TMC Secretary General Partha Chatterjee said that such an umbrella body was necessary to strengthen the movement of government employees in support of their demands.

He noted that the process to set up the unified body began a long time back.
