Addressing his first rally post his PM canditature announcement  of ex-servicemen in Rewari, Haryana, BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi today took a strong dig at the Central Govt for neglecting the army's role.

The rally attended by over 1.45 lakh people echoed Modi's growing popularity once again outside his home turf Gujarat.

Here are some of the main highlights of his speech "

"I salute scarifice of jawans.I can never forget the work done by the army during 2001 earthquake in Gujarat. They recently showed the same spirit in Uattarakhand".

"When the country was praising the soldiers, at the same time Pakistan soldiers were killing our soldiers."

"Unfortunately our defence minister said that they were terrorists in Pak uniform as the govt in Delhi does not care.. This shows that there can be no more insult to the army than what the govt has done."

"Everyday we are surrounded bu new troubles, Pak & China are intruding. Is it because of the army's weakness? The problem is surely not at the border but at Delhi. The solution has to be found from Delhi itself. National security is definetly not this govt's priority. "

"Pak govt is clearly not honest"

"Constituting the Sachar Comittee they have committed a sin, by counting Hindus and Muslims in the army. This is a refletion of their strategy on votebank politics. This also indicates that some leaders are only pretending to talk of secularism by literally dividing the country on such basis."

"The army's budget is crores or rupees but a large amount is only spent on the import of arms as leaders in Delhi have no time for improving the army's condition but are only interested in the upcoming tenders. Instead the world should be buying arms from us and defence off setting should be stressed upon."

"The army should never forget these politicians. A strong Army is equal to a strong country which is equal to a strong govt, we have to realise this dream."

"I also demand white paper on one rank one pay. "

"The next stage of war will be cyber war, we need to be prepared for such warfare"

"Would like to congratulate the scientists on Agni 5 launch."

"To tackle the economy which is in shambles, level playing field should be given to foreign investors."

"I was not at all aware that I would be made the PM candidate for BJP on the 13th of September"
