Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said that if someone benefitted from the serial blasts in Bihar in October last year, it was Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and that he was communalizing terrorist attacks.

"Terrorism is a threat to the whole nation, but there are certain people who want to take an advantage of it. Who was benefited with Patna blasts? Modi did, as the incident made him fall into the eyes of people, he got noticed. But who has suffered from it?" asked Kumar.

"Terrorism has no religion or belief, but some people see terrorism with a view of communalism. When Patna blasts happened, we had caught the criminals soon. In fact, we have found clue even in the Bodh Gaya blasts. The Bihar police had acted effectively," he said.

"The people of Bihar are against dividing politics. They have always stood by for brotherhood so, the dividing powers would never be successful here," he added.

He further said that he strongly condemned what Modi had said and that there was no strength in his words.

"The election season is on and people make statements close to their principles during this time. There is no strength in what Modi has said about Bihar, and I have no concern with what he has spoken," said Kumar.

"I noticed that people have been speaking about it, but there is no point in that. I strongly condemn his statements on Bihar," he said.

"If there are terrorist activities in a particular place, the place does not become heaven for terrorists. There have been terrorist activities in the whole country that does not make it India a heaven for terrorists. In fact, people should look at what happened in Gujarat in that case," he added.

Taking a dig at Nitish, Modi on Monday had said that there was no space for hypocrisy in public life, and added that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will keep on expanding, while addressing a rally in Muzaffarnagar.

The Gujarat Chief Minister said, "When I visited Patna on October 27, 2013, I was very honoured by the welcome I received from the people of Bihar. But at the same time, there were serial blast in Patna. The damage from those blasts was inflicted on the whole country. It was an assault on the unity of India."

"But the people of Bihar are determined. Even after such a big incident, the people of the state demonstrated unity, peace and brotherhood," he added.
