In a bid to woo Muslim voters ahead of Lok Sabha elections, Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal today said the minority community voted in favour of the party only because of Mulayam Singh Yadav.

"The Muslim community votes for SP due to its supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, and not due to any other factor," the SP leader said while addressing a rally here.

Taking potshots at BJP, Agarwal said after it failed to find any leader in Uttar Pradesh it had imported Narendra Modi from Gujarat to increase its tally in the state.

"BJP has lost its faith in state leader and after failing to find anyone who could garner votes, it has imported Modi to increase its tally here," he said.

Attacking Congress for its policies, Agarwal said it was ironic that its leader Rahul Gandhi says in India there was more poverty than Africa.

"His statement is ironic as while making it he forget that it was Congress, which ruled the country for maximum duration since Independence," he said.
