The Nagaland unit of NCP would remain firm on the decision to support consensus Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) candidate, Neiphiu Rio for the lone Lok Sabha seat in the state, NCP Legislature Party leader Dr T M Lotha today said.

He said there was no difference between the legislators and the leaders and that the decision would not be changed for any individual interest.

Lotha said that the four NCP legislators along with some of the NCP state unit leaders had a meeting on February 24 in Kohima and took the unanimous decision to support Rio. He also said that the party leaders in the state have already sought the approval of the NCP central leaders.

He maintained that at this juncture NCP is not in a position to set up its own candidate for the Lok Sabha seat in the state.
He therefore, reaffirmed that the NCP Legislature Party and NCP leaders would support the consensus DAN candidate in the state.
