Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Giriraj Singh has accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Shahabuddin of teaming up and said that their current verbal war was just a smokescreen to hide their devious intentions.

Speaking to ANI here, Singh asserted that Nitish and Shahabuddin have absolutely no issues with each other and were actually working together.

"Nitish has no answer to why he failed to hire a major, qualified lawyer when it came to Shahabuddin. No matter how much they mudsling at each other, you cannot hide the fact that this is a case of match fixing," Singh said.

Further stating that Nitish's mask is about to crack in the case of Shahabuddin since they are in the same league, the Union Minister added that the Chief Minister is answerable to all those who have been victims of Shahabuddin and his associates.

Meanwhile, in a major development signalling trouble for Shahabuddin who is out on release, a video has gone viral in which wanted sharpshooter Mohammad Kaif can be seen standing with the leader after his release from prison.

Kaif is one of the accused in the murder of Hindustan daily's Siwan bureau chief Rajdev Ranjan.

In the video clip, Kaif can be seen standing right next to Shahabuddin and cheering him on, as he spoke to media after being released on bail on Saturday.

Patna High Court granted Shahabuddin bail in the case of a murder of a witness to the 2004 killing of two brothers in Siwan.
