"A positive decision is expected in tomorrow's (Tuesday) meeting with the leaders of Congress ," said senior NCP leader Praful Patel.
The NCP had on Sunday given an ultimatum to the Congress to decide on the seat-sharing arrangement for elections to the 288-member Maharashtra Legislative Assembly within 24 hours.
While reiterating its demand for 144 seats, the NCP also said it was against the Congress's proposal of 124 seats. The central election committee (CEC) of the Congress met in New Delhi on Monday at party president Sonia Gandhi's residence to discuss its list of candidates for the polls.
