“In a big Delhi hotel, a prominent industrialist brokered a deal between the Congress and (Arvind) Kejriwal,” Gadkari was reported to have said. The former BJP president didn't say who the industrialist was.
Gadkari’s statement was denied by both the Congress and the AAP.

“This is all rubbish. It is sad that a senior leader like him made such a comment. I met no party,” Kejriwal was reported to have said. “Let them say what they want to, it doesn’t matter. They are liars.”
Harsh Vardhan, who was the BJP’s chief ministerial candidate in the state, agreed with Gadkari. “If Gadkari has made some allegation then it has some truth. He is a senior and responsible leader of the party.”
