Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Ram Vilas Paswan on Monday said that he wants to see Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi becoming the prime minister of the country.

"You (crowd) are here not only to welcome Narendra Modi, but to strengthen the NDA and bring a change in nation under his leadership. I want to see Narendra bhai as the future prime minister," Paswan said while addressing a rally here.

"There's huge turnout here at the rally. I see this huge turnout as commitment to ensure Narendra Modi and the BJP wins in national elections," he added.

Taking a dig at former allies Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal, Paswan said, "Both Nitishji (Nitish Kumar) and Laluji (Lalu Prasad) used to praise me. They said they would like to see me as Chief Minister of Bihar, now I have entered an alliance so have become bad for them. "

"I was a friend earlier, suddenly I turned into villain after forging an alliance with the BJP," Paswan said.

The BJP and the LJP have sealed a seat sharing pact for the coming Lok Sabha elections in Bihar. The LJP will fight seven out of the 40 Lok Sabha seats in the state under the deal.

The pre-poll alliance of the Paswan-led party with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance comes 12 years after it quit the alliance over Gujarat riots issue.
