Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday asked party lawmakers to make a "strong" push for passage of crucial legislations in the Budget Session of Parliament starting from Monday in the interest of the nation.

At a meeting of the executive of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Parliamentary Party, chaired by him at his residence, Modi asked party leaders to take up legislative business "strongly and effectively".

The meeting, which lasted almost two hours, was attended by around 20 party leaders, including BJP President Amit Shah and Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Nitin Gadkari and M Venkaiah Naidu, besides Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Rajiv Pratap Rudy.

Modi said his party leaders should press for pro-people Bills and help in getting these passed in Parliament. He also asked them to put BJP's point of view on such crucial legislations very effectively for all in the society to understand.
