Modi will flag off the first train from Meghalaya (Mendipathar) to Guwahati via video conferencing from Northeast Frontier Railway headquarters, situated here, soon after his arrival.
He will also unveil the plaque for a new rail line from Bhairabi to Salrang, Mizoram. Later in the evening Modi is scheduled to address the 75th anniversary celebrations of the Assam Tribune Group, a local media house.

On November 30, the Prime Minister will address the conference of director generals of police and chief ministers of all North Eastern states and later address a party rally in the city before leaving for Imphal.

Security in Guwahati city has been beefed up following the recent bomb blast in Dibrugarh district and two incidents of recovery of explosives.
All in bound vehicles, trains and busses to Guwahati city are thoroughly checked and police check-posts have been set up across the city.
