Bajwa said industrialists on verge of closing units had pinned big hopes on the policy, but it has disappointed them. The SAD-BJP government has failed to give any relief to the industrial units planning to shift to other states. He said no special package was given to small-scale industries which provide self-employment to skilled youth and jobs to local youth. He added there were about 200,000 small-scale industrial units and five-million medium-scale units not covered under the policy.
He added that the industrial growth was not possible in Punjab due to unbridled bureaucracy, lack of coordination between departments and corruption. He said that industrial production was at stand still and agriculture was not progressing. He mentioned that that it was expected that new industrial policy will address all these issues but it is totally directionless.
