Question Hour in Lok Sabha

The first hour of a sitting of a Lok Sabha is called the Question Hour. Starting at 11 am, members of the House, both from the Opposition as well as the ruling party/alliance, can ask the government questions on all aspects of the administration which ministers have to answer. Questions have known to have led to the government waking up to loopholes and ordering appointment of a commission or a court of enquiry.

The average number of questions asked by MPs in the first year of the 16th Lok Sabha is 73.
