Restrictions were imposed on Friday in parts of Srinagar city and Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir to prevent separatist-called protests over the fatal petrol bomb attack on a local youth on October 9.
Senior separatist leaders Syed Ali Geelani, Miwaiz Umer Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik and others were placed under house arrest to prevent their participation in protests.
Geelani called for protests after Friday prayers over the youth's killing in Udhampur.
"Restrictions have been imposed in Rainawari, Khanyar, Nowhatta, M R Gunj, Safakadal and Maisuma areas of Srinagar city today (Friday)," a police officer told IANS.
Restrictions have also been imposed in south Kashmir's Bijbehara and Anantnag towns.
Naseer Ahmad, 25, was critically injured during clashes with the security forces in Bijbehara town on Wednesday.

The youth was hit on the forehead by a tear smoke shell.
"His condition is now stable," attending doctors told IANS here.
Meanwhile, a local tanker driver, Javaid Ahmad was attacked by a mob on the Srinagar-Jammu in Awantipora town on Thursday.
"He was hit on the head by a stone. Doctors have described his condition as critical," a police officer here said.
