"Truth alone triumphs!" This is how Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi reacted today to an Ahmedabad court's verdict rejecting a protest petition filed against the clean chit given to him by the Supreme Court- appointed SIT in the 2002 communal riots.
The protest petition was filed by Zakia Jafri, whose husband Ehsan Jafri, a former Congress MP, was killed in the Gulbarg Housing Society massacre along with 67 others.

The verdict by Metropolitan Magistrate B J Ganatra came as a huge relief to the BJP's prime ministerial candidate in the run up to the 2014 general elections.
Zakia told NDTV she was saddened by the order but not disheartened. Her lawyer has said that they will contest the decision of the Ahmedabad court.
Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley tweeted: "Truth has prevailed. The conspiracy and falsehood to implicate Shri Narendra Modi in an offence stands exposed."
The widow of former Congress MP Ehsaan Jafri, who was killed in the 2002 riots, filed a “protest petition” against the clean chit given to the chief minister by the Supreme Court-appointed SIT.
In February 2012, the SIT gave a clean chit to Modi, saying it had found no evidence against him and 58 other accused in the case.
Ehsaan Jafri and 68 others were killed by a mob at Gulbarg housing society, where the Jafris lived, on February 28, 2002. In her complaint, Zakia had named Modi as prime accused and wanted him to be called for deposition.
