An FIR with lodged with Lucknow Police today against Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati by the family of expelled Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dayashankar Singh for alleged disparaging remarks against the latter's female relatives by the BSP leaders and workers.
The First Information Report was lodged at the Hazratganj police station here under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
BSP cadres had yesterday staged a massive demonstration near the statue of Bharat Ratna Bhimrao Ambedkar in Hazratganj area over Singh's sexist and derogatory remarks against Mayawati recently.
Singh, a newly elected Uttar Pradesh BJP vice president, has been sacked form the party for six years and a case registered against him at Hazratganj police station.
The BSP demonstrators had not only burnt Singh in effigy, they had shouted sexist and reprehensive remarks targetting Singh's women family members, including his minor daughter. The demonstrators were also addressed by senior BSP leader Naseemuddin Siddiqui and others.
The agitation was called off only after the police and district administration assured BSP leaders to arrest Singh within 36 hours.

Singh's wife Swati said her minor daughter had been scarred mentally over derogatory slogan shouting by the BSP cadres yesterday targeting her family.
She noted the dignity of her family was no less than any other women, including Mayawati. The family has alleged threat to their lives and demanded adequate security.
Meanwhile, separate UP Police teams had been conducting raids at multiple places in UP to arrest Singh, but without success so far.
