Barely 16 hours after snapping ties, BJP and Shiv Sena are engaged in leveling allegations against each other. Shiv Sena in its blistering attack against BJP termed those who severed the 25 year old alliance as ''enemies of Maharashtra.''

On the other hand, BJP strongly rejected Shiv Sena's charge of an hidden alliance between BJP and Nationalist Congress Party. BJP indirectly alleged that it was Shiv Sena which had a ''fixing'' with NCP on the floor of state legislature.

The blame game began despite state BJP chief Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday saying that his party won't criticise Shiv Sena even after latter's attack.

"Our other (Mahayuti) alliance parties wanted the Sena-BJP combine to continue. More than that, it was what the 11 crore people of Maharashtra wanted. Those who trampled these sentiments are enemies of Maharashtra," Sena said. "This (breaking of alliance) is an insult to the 105 Marathi martyrs of the Samyukta Maharashtra movement," an editorial in Sena mouthpiece 'Saamana' said here.

Further, Shiv Sena said it is unfortunate that the Sena-BJP alliance which for the last 25 years was bound by the Hindutva ideology has ended. "We made sincere efforts till the end to ensure that the alliance with BJP and other parties of Mahayuti remained intact," the editorial said.

However, state BJP chief Devendra Fadnavis denied allegations levelled by Shiv Sena and Congress for having its nexus with NCP. Fadnavis reminded Shiv Sena that it was BJP which was at the forefront to expose various scams and corruption cases against the NCP ministers. ''It is time to find out who had a fixing with NCP,'' he added. Fadnavis reiterated and added that BJP would never align with NCP.
