DMK party president M. Karunanidhi's son and daughter are on the committees formed to carry out seat sharing negotiations and to draft the poll manifesto for the upcoming general elections.
In a statement issued here Friday, the party said it has formed two committees, one to carry out seat sharing negotiations with other parties, and the other to draft the party's manifesto for the general elections.
DMK's treasurer and Karunanidhi's son M.K. Stalin figures at the top of the five-member committee that would negotiate with other parties on sharing of seats.
The other members of the committee are Duraimurugan, V.P. Duraisamy, R.S. Bharathi and P.V. Kalyanasundaram.
Ruling out pre-poll alliance with the Congress and the BJP, the DMK has firmed up alliance with smaller parties like the MMK, PT and VCK.
The DMK had also invited the DMDK to its fold. However, the DMDK, floated by actor-turned-politician A. Vijaykant, has not expressed any interest in joining the alliance with the DMK yet.
