Congress party is muting plan to serve subsidised ration to the people in Chhattisgarh in an attempt to sway the voters in the election-bound state.

The state goes to the polls on November 11 and November 19. The Congress party is desperate to snatch away power from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to end its 10 years rule in Chhattisgarh.

In the attempt, the party is pulling all the strings to influence the voters. An attractive election manifesto would be one of the major instruments that the party had been finalising in its exercise to oust the BJP government from power.

Senior Congress leaders associated with the job confirmed that the manifesto include the important feature of providing full ration to a family at a nominal price of Rs 100 every month. The details of the quantity in the package were not revealed by the leaders.

The Congress party would release its election manifesto on Monday in presence of senior party leaders. The committee had been giving final touches to the manifesto. The leaders said that the manifesto spoke of popular measures for every section of the society.

Besides an interest free agriculture loan, the Congress party was working on the plan to include the proposals of free power to the small farmers, a bonus of Rs 300 to the farmers on procuring a quintal of paddy and strong measures to curb the unemployment problem in the state.
