Telangana Assembly session begins

The first session of the Telangana legislative Assembly commenced on Monday. Protem speaker K Jana Reddy administered the oath of office to the members on the first day.

After the house was adjourned for the day, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party's speaker nominee S Madhusudhana Chary filed his papers. Chief minister K Chandrashekhara Rao and other leaders accompanied the party nominee to the legislative secretary's office for filing the nomination.

As no other member had filed nomination, Chary is expected to be declared elected unanimously on Tuesday. Governor ESL Narasimhan is scheduled to address the House on Wednesday. The Speaker will adjourn the House a day later after the members will speak on the motion of thanks to the Governor's address.
