Congratulating party workers for the victory, he said it will give stability to Harish Rawat government in the state which can now focus on fulfilling the promises made by the party to people before 2012 Assembly elections.
"Besides stability to the state government, it will give the much-needed boost to the morale of party workers after the rout in Lok Sabha polls and have a positive effect on the ensuing Assembly polls in Maharshtra and Jammu and Kashmir," he said.
The ruling Congress registered an imposing victory in the bypolls bagging three Assembly seats in Uttarakhand yesterday, retaining Dharchula seat, which went to Chief Minister Harish Rawat, and wresting Doiwala and Someshwar seats from the BJP.
