Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik, who has in the past voiced concern over the law and order situation in the state, on Monday said state needs to see more improvement.

"Uttar Pradesh needs more improvement. Not only I, but both Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav have admitted" to that, Naik, who was here to attend convocation of a Dental College at Chandeshwar, told reporters.

He also said viewing all leaders whether it's Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel from angle of a particular party would be injustice to their personality. The governor said he was happy with the manner the prime minister organised programmes of Sardar Patel and Pandit Nehru and it would inspire the country.

"I am happy that the Modi government has organised programmes. All these programmes will give inspiration to the country. Big leaders should not be categorised," he said.
