Late Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa's niece Deepa Jayakumar on Friday said she would surely contest elections from the former's constituency, R K Nagar, in the next elections.

"People are continuously expressing interest that I should contest from there. I am definitely going to take that call and contest from R K Nagar," Deepa told ANI.

Deepa further expressed hope to fulfil all aspirations that have been put forward to her by the people of Tamil Nadu.

"It is certainly not good for the people because this kind of take over, this kind of hijacking of the party is absolutely not acceptable to anyone, especially the cadre of the AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam), because their wishes are being totally ignored and also it was a forcible takeover," Deepa said while referring to the appointment of E Palaniswami as chief minister and general secretary of the AIADMK.

Earlier in the day, Palaniswami said there is no mystery behind Jayalalithaa's death, adding that vested interests were making an issue out of it for political gain.
