The YSR Congress Party, which observed a two-day bandh  last week in Seemandhra (coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions) in protest against the Centre's decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh, has decided to intensify its stir from Tuesday.

Party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is stated have drafted the agitation programme that would involve all sections of people in Seemandhra.  He has been touring the country and mobilising the support of national and regional party leaders to widen the canvas of resentment on the division and the need to amend Article 3 of the Constitution that deals with the re-organisation of states.

According to the protest programme, on December 10, a rally by students and youth would be held against the division. The next day, the party will organise a tractor rally by farmers and on December 12, when the winter session of the state Legislative Assembly starts, highway blockade programmes would be taken up.

On December 13, the party said, a meeting with all sections of people would be organised. From December 14 onwards, there would be meetings in every constituency ‘to highlight the authoritarian and undemocratic attitude of the Congress and the irresponsible TDP which have no clarity and are ambiguous on such a crucial issue.’
