Aircel ropes in Girish Nair as group HR head

Chennai, July 17, 2007 "� Aircel, the fifth largest GSM mobile service provider in the country, has announced the appointment of Mr. Girish Nair as Corporate Vice President and Group Head "� Human Resources (HR) effective from July 2007.
 
Girish will be directly responsible for formulation and implementation of Aircel's HR strategies and policies for its pan-India operations and help the company in attracting best talents from the industry to aid its rapid growth.
 
Girish has more than a decade of experience in Corporate HR and prior to joining Aircel; he was the Senior Vice President for Global HR at Aztecsoft Ltd. where he spearheaded its HR initiatives including PCMM (People Capability Maturity Model) and moulded it to be a strong HR brand to be reckoned with. Aztecsoft won a string of HR awards and accolades under his dynamic leadership.
 
Prior to Aztecsoft, Girish had an 8-year stint with Satyam Computer Services as General Manager "� Global HR where he was responsible for providing HR services to a variety of business verticals including telecom besides playing a pivotal role in the re-engineering and outsourcing of HR operational transactions.
 
Girish is a committee member in a number of HRD forums and associations besides being an active HR Guest Speaker in national and international seminars and contributor of articles to prominent dailies. Girish is a Psychology graduate and holds an MBA with a specialisation in HR from the Bangalore University.
