Alstom to strengthen its Transport business in India

Mumbai, June 6, 2007---Alstom today announced that the Alstom Transport led consortium**, has bagged the contract worth INR 255 crores from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). The contract involves design, manufacture, supply, installation and commissioning of Train Control & Signaling System for DMRC's Metro Line 1 and 2 extensions. The metro line 1 and 2 extension covers 37 kms and will be completed by March 2010. Alstom will provide its information and train control system URBALISTM on both above and underground sections of the metro.

Alstom Transport currently has operations in Delhi, a manufacturing facility at Coimbatore for signaling and a software facility in Bangalore in partnership with Infotech. In 2005, Alstom Transport, successfully implemented the signaling & telecom systems, electrical equipments & services for Rolling Stock, traction equipments for Delhi Metro for DMRC.
