A high powered delegation comprising of Deans, senior Professors and Academicians from Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) China visited Amity University Campus, Sector – 125, Noida with an objective of establishing academic collaboration with Amity University primarily in the areas of Computer Science, Life Science, Information Technology, International Affairs apart from various others. The distinguished delegation was led by Mr. Guo Dacheng, Chairman, of University Council, BIT (Leader) accompanied by 5 members including Mr. Guo Yanyi, Dean, School of Computer Science, BIT, Mr. Wang Bencong, Dean, School of Science, BIT, Ms. Li Qin, Vice Dean, School of Life Science and Technology, BIT, Prof. Rajesh Kumar, Foreign Expert, International Initiatives, BIT, Ms. Wang Ying, Associate Director, International Affairs, BIT. A MOU was signed between Amity and BIT to promote student exchange programmes, faculty exchange programmes and joint researches in the areas of Computer Science, Life Science and Information Technology etc.
Maj. Gen K Jai Singh welcomed the esteemed guests of the delegation and informed “BIT is a three tier research University which was established in 1940 and was known as Academy of Natural Sciences. After its merge with Sino-French University in 1952 it came to be known as Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) from Academy of Natural Sciences. BIT is one of the prestigious Universities of China which is over seventy years old and has received over 120 National Awards for its Scientific Researches. Also BIT holds a high rank in Times HES amongst the top 150 Asian Universities.”
During his address Mr. Guo Dacheng, Chairman, of University Council, BIT (Leader) expressed sheer joy in visiting Amity University and said “Amity is truly impressive in terms of its history, development and achievements. Amity is unique in its philosophy and is greatly committed to empower mankind with the strength of quality education.” “Holistic education is the key to Nation’s progress and Universities which are endeavouring to educate the society widely spereheading the objective of Global progress can collectively do better by establishing links across Nations and Continents through academic joint ventures and partnerships in terms of various educational exchange programmes like faculty exchange, students exchange, joint researches etc. BIT’s International Communication strategy emphasizes on opening to the world by offering mutually beneficial education exchange programmes to the best Universities of the world. BIT welcomes over 400 international students every year from various niche Universities of the world and has already established collaborative ties with over 150 Universities from forty three countries including Australia, Spain, Germany, North America etc, he added. Appreciating the excellence of Amity he said “BIT is keen on education tie ups with Amity which will boost the links between the two Universities and therefore will be heartened to have Amity students in its Campus and vice versa for further nurturing of the relationship between the two Universities tied together with the noble cause of bringing in a phenomenal revolution in education.”
The valuable interactive session between the senior academicians and Heads of Institutions of the two Universities was followed by the felicitation of the esteemed guests by Gen K. Jai Singh, Dr. Gurinder Singh Pro Vice Chancellor (International), AUUP and Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Pro Vice Chancellor (Academics), AUUP along with a brief round of Amity University Campus, Sector – 125, Noida.
