BloombergUTV Autocar India Awards' are back again

India's premier business news channel BloombergUTV and Autocar India, the most definitive guide to the auto industry are back for the fourth year in a row with the BloombergUTV Autocar India Awards 2011. The awards night, to be held on January 13th, 2012 promises to be a high octane affair, one that will be celebrated with great fanfare and aplomb.

The BloombergUTV Autocar Awards, widely regarded as the Oscars of the Automobile industry, will honor the best in class vehicles launched by the industry in the past year. BloombergUTV Autocar India Awards 2012 brings to you, the biggest, the smaller, the meanest, the classy, the fastest and the agilest cars and bikes of the year, in the ultimate survival of the fittest.

Deepak Lamba, Business Head – BloombergUTV said, “The last few years have seen the Indian Automotive industry emerge as a significant contributor towards the growth of the Indian economy and a recent study done by the Autocar professional magazine states that India's auto industry accounts for 22 percent of the current manufacturing GDP, which is extremely encouraging. As a business channel, our endeavour is to give our viewers a clean and clear understanding of various industries and with the growing importance of the automotive sector towards the growth of the Indian economy, we are not just studying it closely but have been directly involved with it through the BloombergUTV Autocar Awards.

The awards will be given across various categories to the best and the most deserving contributors to the auto industry. The categories are Car of the Year 2012, Best Value-for-Money car, Best Design and Styling, Best Variant of the Year, Best Driver's car, Manufacturer of the Year, Technology and Innovation award, Sub-compact car of the Year, Best Compact car of the Year, Best Saloon car of the Year, Best Executive Saloon of the Year, Luxury Saloon of the Year, SUV of the Year, Luxury SUV of the Year, Best Automobile Ad of the Year, Bike of the Year 2012, Premium Bike of the Year, Import Bike of the Year, Car Dealer of the Year, Viewer's choice award – CAR, Viewer's choice award – BIKE, Green Car Award, Man of the Year and Best Customer Service experience.

Adopting the theme “Evolution is Simple. Survival of the Fittest”, this year BloombergUTV Autocar India Awards 2012 will see fierce competition amongst the most reputed names in the auto sector. An eminent jury panel comprising of experts like Hormazd Sorabjee, Dilip Chhabria, Manavendra Singh, Narain Karthikeyan to name a few (for Cars) and Dilip Roggers, Rishad Cooper, Kartikeya Singhee and Rajeev Khanna (for Bikes) will leave no stone unturned to ensure that the most deserving automobile is declared the winner in its respective category.

The BloombergUTV Autocar India Awards 2012 is presented by HDFC Bank and powered by Tata AIG Insurance. KPMG are the Knowledge Partners and GLADE Auto Sport Car Perfume are the Car Style Partners. Glimpses from the felicitation ceremony will be telecast live from the Taj Land's End, Mumbai on the January 13th while the special episode on the Awards function will be telecast exclusively on BloombergUTV on 14th Jan at 11.30 am and 15th Jan at 10.00 pm.
