Shri Vinod Rai, Comptroller and Auditor General of India inaugurated the new building of Regional Training Institute of the Indian Audit and Accounts department at Bandra Kurla Complex here today.
While delivering inaugural address the CAG said "the building of this magnitude with a superb quality and highest standard is landmark achievement for Audit and Accounts department of Government of India". He further opined that to upgrade and reorient our Human Resources and to develop technical and professional skills, an institute of this magnitude was an essential requirement for the department of Audit and Accounts. Speaking about the credibility of the department, the CAG disclosed that the business of the department is absolutely transparent and its credibility and professional competence is reorganized and respected across the globe. He however called upon the professionals of IAAS to upgrade their professional skills is the field of IT and environment Audit which are the most important areas today.
Construction of the new building of the RTI was entrusted to the Central Public Works Department, Government of India on turnkey basis. The centrally air-conditioned building has been planned with the state-of-the-art facilities and user friendly features. The foundation stone for the building was laid on 20.03.2007. The building is strategically located on a plot admeasuring 2500 sq. meter in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai adjacent to the Asian Heart Institute. The building in itself is a complete residential training institute which provides multiplicity of facilities like an auditorium, conference hall, seminar rooms, classrooms, computer training labs, gymnasium, hostel, kitchen and dining hall.
The hostel block houses 28 double bedded guest rooms for 56 trainees, and four VIP guest rooms. Interiors of the building has been designed to provide sophisticated contemporary look by using combination of selective natural stones, glass and natural wood veneers. Well designed comfortable furniture has been provided in all the halls and rooms.
