Carrier merges Aircon and Refrigeration

New Delhi, October 26th, 2006: Carrier Corp., a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) and global leader in air conditioning, heating and refrigerating systems, today announced the merger of Carrier Aircon Ltd. (for the air conditioning business) with Carrier Refrigeration Private Limited (for the refrigeration business). The company, which has been operating in India through two legal entities, , have now been merged and the merged entity has been renamed as Carrier Airconditioning & Refrigeration Limited.

"Earlier this year, Carrier consolidated manufacturing facilities at the Gurgaon plant, which has led to enhanced levels of productivity. The merger of the two legal entities is the next logical step toward achieving greater productivity and business synergies to better serve customers," said Mr. Zubin Irani, Managing Director, Carrier Airconditioning and Refrigeration Limited.
