The leading Italian premium wellness brand, Novellini, with products consisting of shower enclosures, equipped panels, steam cubicles and hydro massage bath tubs, was launched in India today. Novellini, the European leader in wellness range, has partnered with Cera Sanitaryware Limited, the leading bathroom solutions provider, for launching its products in India.
Speaking to the press on the launch event in Mumbai today, Mr. Marco Novellini, Chief Executive Officer and co-owner of Novellini said that Novellini selected Cera as its Indian partner looking to Cera’s premium brand image, deep retail penetration and ready marketing infrastructure.
Mr Vidush Somany, Executive Director of Cera said that the demand for wellness products is increasing in India and Cera has tied up with Novellini to tap this growing potential. Cera will leverage on its strengths in marketing and also Novellini’s premium quality. “This is a perfect brand fit”, said Mr Somany.
Mr Giovanni Orlandi, the Export Manager of Novellini said that Novellini, after attaining leadership in entire Europe, is expanding its presence globally to Asian and American markets.
Novellini range also would be displayed in Cera Bath Studios, Cera’s exclusive display centres across India as well as in select premium showrooms

Novellini has been in the wellness manufacturing business for over 30 years. With a production of 12 lac units of shower enclosures and 2 lac units of wellness products per annum, Novellini is clearly the European leader. Its fully integrated manufacturing plants located in Mantova in Italy employs over 1000 people. The products conform to green norms and also various European and international quality norms.
Novellini products have advanced features like thermostatic mixers, aroma therapy, chromo therapy, disinfection, etc. Each Novellini product is tested for functional perfection before it is sent to market.

Cera Sanitaryware Ltd.
Cera, which had a topline growth of 25% in the financial year 2008-09, is upbeat about the launch of Novellini. “We expect that this launch will certainly add a further boost to Cera’s growth path”, said Mr Santosh Nema, Chie Executive Officer and Director of Cera. Despite the global recession and consequent real estate downturn in India, Cera’s net sales had gone up by 25%--from Rs.128 crores to Rs.160 crores. The net profit also grew by 30% from Rs.10.05 crores to Rs.13.10 crores. “Cera’s focus on retail network expansion, rural penetration and concentration on small and medium developers has helped Cera perform much above the market growth”, said Mr. Nema.
Cera has also repositioned the brand as Styleware. The new ad campaign, released from Apil 2009, talks about the Cera’s premium designs to match upwardly mobile customer’s personalised style aspiration.
CERA, which launched sanitaryware in India in 1980, has a manufacturing plant in Kadi near Ahmedabad for manufacturing 2.2 million pieces of sanitaryware per annum, making it the largest single-location Sanitaryware plant in the India. CERA has been consistently growing at above 25% in the past several years. Apart from sanitaryware, CERA also provides taps and shower products, making it a total bathroom solutions provider.
Cera also launched premium Italian and Spanish designer tiles last year in select markets in India through exclusive tie-ups with major manufacturers like Rondine, Gigacer, Todagress, etc. These tiles are retailed through select premium showrooms.
