Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is deeply concerned about the unfortunate situation in West Bengal after Aila struck in vast parts of the state on 25 May 2009. In this crisis period, CII feels that industry should strengthen the hands of the Government and the Administration of West Bengal by contributing towards relief activities in the affected areas of the state.
CII is engaged with relief work including distribution of relief materials in the Mathurapur 2, Gosaba and Sandeshkhali. The relief material includes rice, dal, cooking oil and potatoes for the mass kitchen in Gosaba and Sandeshkhali in the first phase.
In the second phase of relief work, CII would distribute relief material including rice, dal, cooking oil, polythene sheets and halogen tablets in the interior villages of the Mathurapur 2 block of South 24 Parganas.
