Mahindra Holidays and Resorts India Ltd, a leisure hospitality provider offering quality family holidays and part of the Mahindra Group of Companies has set a record amidst the slump period in the hospitality industry.  In the month of December, the company’s flagship brand, Club Mahindra has had average room occupancy of 89 per cent across all its resorts in the country.

Club Mahindra has a total of 30 resorts nation-wide including 4 belonging to the Zest brand. This outstanding occupancy has been achieved in spite of two new resorts in relatively lesser known destinations - Ashthamudi (Kerala) and Kumbalgarh (Rajasthan). These destinations have also recorded decent occupancy levels and are fast on their way of becoming popular.

Commenting on this remarkable achievement Mr. Arun Nanda, Chairman Mahindra Holidays said, “I complement the team at Club Mahindra for achieving this record breaking room occupancy especially during difficult times. Our continuous drive towards customer centricity and innovativeness has led to such record breaking achievements”.

Over the last two years, Club Mahindra’s  has seen revenue growth of over 50 per cent on year to year basis attributed not only to sales to members but also to non-members who book rooms as hotel guests.

The total number of current members is in excess of 83,000.  Besides the ever growing member’s list, Mahindra Holidays has a unique business model as it leverages the strength of both the time share business and the hotel business. In fact, 25% of the rooms are sold to hotel guests who booked their holidays directly with the resorts even though they are not Club Mahindra members. Most of these being foreign guests .This ‘mixed use’ has ensured that the occupancy across all Club Mahindra resorts continue to be high at various locations.
