Cosmo Films Limited, India’s second largest Bi-axially oriented poly-polypropylene manufacturers & leading exporters announced their Q2 ending results with total income of Rs. 204.05 crore for the Quarter ending September 30th, 2008
Q2 FY 2008-2009 Financial Performance (compared with Q2 FY 2007-2008)
Commenting on the company’s performance, Mr. Ashok Jaipuria, Chairman and Managing Director, Cosmo Films Ltd said “The company has grown by 31% during the quarter compared to the same period last year. The increase in revenues for the quarter can be attributed to a 6% increase in sales volume and an increase in selling prices due to increase in raw material cost.”
He further added “Cosmo continues to follow its market focused strategy for western regions by setting up strong front-end sales teams for European and Middle East markets. These teams will cater to the markets as a local supplier and help in customer based product innovation.

Expansion plans:
The company has planned a capex of Rs. 240 crore to increase its capacities from 54,000 MT of BOPP Films, 24,200 MT value add Film to 1,34,000 MT of BOPP films, 31,200 MT value add Film by Fiscal 2010 making it one of the largest players in this segment. The company also has plan to increase its metallizing business by procuring a new metallizer.
