Manav Rachna International University, Faridabad, known for spectacular achievements in the field of research and development and has recorded some of its grandest accomplishments in the recent times. Since its inception, MRIU has taken many initiatives to display their leading edge in R & D.
The university has undertaken more than 125 research projects (including minor, major, internal funding as well as external funding based) which have been/are being handled by the faculty. Some of these include Design and Development of a column for Bio-diesel purification; Development of composite polymer electrolyte films for electrochemical devices; Role of Initialization in short term forecast of tropical cyclone & Monsoon depression by using numerical model),UNIDO Project, Baha Buggy Project, Industrial Consultancy Projects etc.
Recently students from MRCE have won 1st and 2nd prize for their marvelous projects - Automatic Drainage System & Wireless Electronic Display and Design and Fabricate a Paper Jogger respectively at best Engineering Projects 2010 exhibition at Faridabad Industries Association (FIA).
Manav Rachna University’s FET students have also designed and developed, Baha Buggy an All Terrain Vehicle Developed which won best design and innovation award at Society of Automotive Engineer (SAE) in 2009.
Recently Intel organized a national level competition – Intel India Embedded Challenge with an objective to create platform for the engineering, MBA and technical professionals. Students from Manav Rachna College of Engineering, Faridabad have won Rs. 10 lakh as the first prize in the competition.
The students made a tractor which can be controlled to plough from home, a wheelchair that can be moved with a simple finger movement, a surveillance system that can replace human beings on a war front. The tractor built with cutting-edge technologies like GPS, GIS, remote video monitoring, artificial intelligence, SMS and is meant for precise farming.

Besides this, 3 students from Manav Rachna College of Engineering (MRCE), Adeel Kidwai, Rajeev Bhatia and Tushar Chugh were selected as an Embedded Development Finalist and have attended the Imagine Cup 2010 Worldwide Finals in Warsaw, Poland. These students under the guidance of Prof M.S.Giri developed an automated ground vehicle called ‘WiziTank’ which can be useful in hazardous and life threatening environments, like Low Intensity Conflict / Explosive Ordinance Disposal program and Homeland Security.
Cdr M.S. Giri who guided the students during this project said, “We think in today's world, technology not only affects businesses, but also changes the way the world looks at it. It surely affects the masses, and makes this world a better place to live in and that is why we need to develop and utilize technology for solving the issues bothering the society and the world.”
On the achievements and Laurels won by the university students in competitions and presentations of national and international repute Mr. Prashant Bhalla, Senior Vice President, MRIU said, “The focus of MRIU has always been curriculum innovation, strong industry partnership and seamless integration of science and engineering. Our research and innovations have attracted leading global brands to work with MRIU for placements & cutting-edge research and development.”
