Huge stocks of spurious 'Kamagra' confiscated in Mumbai and Delhi

Maharashtra Police and FDA officials have busted a spurious drugs racket engaged in the production of spurious ‘Kamagra’, a popular Ajanta Pharma drug. Kamagra oral jelly worth Rs. 10 lacs was confiscated in the raid and Mohammed Yusuf and Monty Singh were arrested and remanded in police custody.

In another raid at a courier office, the State FDA officials confiscated fake Kamagra worth lacs of rupees, meant for illegal export. Two persons, Ravi Gupta and Irfan were remanded to judicial custody.

In Delhi, FDA officials raided Sabharwal Medical and seized fake Kamagra worth lacs of rupees.

Kamagra is a popular drug used for treatment of erectile dysfunction and the brand is owned by Ajanta Pharma Ltd., a Rs.300 crore specialty pharmaceutical company.

FDA plans to conduct more raids to eradicate the growing spurious drugs racket in the country.
