The Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce & Industry is pleased to announce the launch of the 8th edition of Festa Italiana, organized under the patronage of the Embassy of Italy in Delhi and the Consulates General of Italy in Mumbai and Kolkata, in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture and ENIT.
Festa Italiana, the flagship event of the Indo-Italian Chamber Of Commerce and Industry aims to celebrate Indo-Italian relationships from March 5 to March 22, 2010 through a series of exhibitions, film festivals, concerts, economic and educational exchanges. The events will be held across the cities of Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai and Goa.
Some of the highlights of Festa Italiana 2010 lined up for Mumbai are the Vetrina Italiana Shopping Festival, Impresa Business Awards, Showcase Italy, Unescoitalia Photo exhibition, Music Concerts by legendary musicians Enrico Rava and Maestro Paolo Vergari, among others.
"Festa Italiana is a unique initiative conceptualised and organised by our Chamber that, over the years has contributed immensely in strengthening Indo-Italian relationships and further an increased cooperation in the fields of trade, science, technology, education, lifestyle and culture. Festa Italiana keeps reinventing itself and even this year it will bring to the Indian consumer a unique novelty: the Vetrina Italian Shopping Festival, a platform to present to the Indian consumers the best of the Italian brands present in India, brands that find a value addition in highlighting their "Italianity" thus significantlly enhancing such value. The ecletic mix of events lined up for this year promises to enthral and give Indian audiences an experience of different facets that define Italy at its best" said Mr Narinder Nayar, President of the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Vetrina Italiana Shopping Festival is an innovative initiative which aims to acquaint an increasingly discerning audience in India with Italian products. It will guide customers looking for stores in Mumbai where one can buy Italian products through a unique Shopping Map featuring 120 Italian brand outlets that are participating in this shopping festival.
The Impresa Business Awards, already in its 6th edition, will reward outstanding entrepreneurial initiatives that have significantly contributed in areas such as innovation, environment-friendliness, social responsibility, business excellence and market presence, besides strengthening Indo-Italian economic relations.

Festa Italiana 2010 will feature the world-renowned Italian jazz musician Enrico Rava, who is undoubtedly the world’s most renowned Italian jazz musician. For the first time in India, his Enrico Rava New Quintet featuring Gianluca Petrella will kick off an astonishing evening of jazz: melodious, intense and at the same time original and amazing.
A piano recital by Maestro Paolo Vergari will include works from Bach to the contemporary Italian band Premiata Forneria Marconi.Dance, Rhythm, Celebration… Aria Italiana is the title of the eclectic programme to be presented by maestro Paolo Vergari, pre-eminent pianist and composer. Maestro Vergari will present a unique programme, beginning with a Bach overture and moving through Respighi, Verdi, Liszt, Tosi, to conclude with a rearrangement for piano of the track “È Festa” composed by the more contemporary band Premiata Forneria Marconi.
Unescoitalia- is a photographic exhibition which will showcase 122 photographs featuring 44 World Heritage Sites in Italy with pictures of 14 famous Italian photographers. The exhibition will highlight the architectural and natural wealth that makes Italy unique in the world.
There will also be events dedicated to tourism and fashion. ENIT (Italian State Tourist Board) is organising Showcase Italy, a photographic exhibition on Italy. The Marangoni Institute is presenting a seminar on “E-Fashion” that will offer a perspective on how to promote and sell fashion brands in the new digital context.
Food, fashion, entertainment, lifestyle, music, art and culture play an integral part in defining Italy and the variety of events presented at Festa Italiana will give a taste of Italy like never before.

Founded in 1966, the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IICCI) is a non-profit organization recognized by the Italian Government, whose main objective is to promote and enhance trade and economic relations between India and Italy.
