GIBSS, a company focussed on making “buildings zero net energy” with the use of its environmentally and socially responsible demand side technologies, has been awarded the Sankalp Awards 2012 for the most innovative sustainable and scalable company in the Clean Tech and Clean Energy Sector.
GIBSS, with its energy efficient Geothermal, Hot water cogeneration and Lighting systems, helps buildings reduce operational costs by 60-80%. Arun Shenoy, Co-founder, GIBSS, said “Our long term vision is Zero Net Energy Buildings – Buildings that can harvest energy to meet their own demand. The first step in this direction is to reduce and optimize demand so that supply side solutions can be made affordable and commercially viable. Sankalp 2012 is a Social Enterprise Awards process that is aimed at recognizing the most sustainable, scalable and innovative social enterprises in India and South East Asia. Sankalp organizers had received 100+ applications from across the region. The applications were evaluated on various parameters including operational efficiency, social impact, innovation, sustainability, scalability, market potential and team profile.
